"The reality of government reform is simple but brutal: every “inefficiency” is someone's livelihood, every “waste” is someone's program, and every dollar of deficit is someone's payoff."

So we stop bowing to corruption. Those on the corrupt dole need to find jobs and become productive members of society. We can't worry about them if they are not able to adapt.

I hear this argument about the cancer industry too. If we have a cure for cancer, those doctors promoting authorized "treatments," not cures, will certainly lose their jobs. Do we cure cancer or keep the money flow going? Which answer benefits the most people?

The reality of the cancer industry is summarized here.
