Ciprofloxacin, aka Cipro, is a fluoroquinolone, and should not be on this list without some serious warnings.

Extremely serious adverse reactions have led to black box level warnings, see:

https://fq100.org/fda-warnings

My own father prescribed these to me 20 years ago, but this is a drug only to be used as a last resort...

The European agencies add to the warnings:

"Disabling and potentially permanent side effects lead to suspension or restrictions of quinolone and fluoroquinolone antibiotics"

https://www.ema.europa.eu/en/medicines/human/referrals/quinolone-fluoroquinolone-containing-medicinal-products#overview-section

"Fluoroquinolone antibiotics: must now only be prescribed when other commonly recommended antibiotics are inappropriate"

https://www.gov.uk/drug-safety-update/fluoroquinolone-antibiotics-must-now-only-be-prescribed-when-other-commonly-recommended-antibiotics-are-inappropriate

There are whole websites for the many victims who got "floxxed" and their health ruined for years.

As Doug so aptly put it about drugs in general:

“This drug can < expletive deleted > you up. Talk to your doctor to see if this shit is right for you...”

You make an important point. Thanks. But Cipro should be on the list anyway. Not for taking during normal times, but the list is for abnormal times.

When the SHTF, cipro will become one of those drugs that is used when other commonly prescribed drugs are unavailable. When SHTF, you won't have access to lab results identifying which bacteria is causing the diarrhea, the UTI, the pneumonia. When water and septic systems cross contaminate and typhoid and cholera (as just two examples) are back in the the developed world (SHTF for real!), the rare side effects not withstanding, Cipro will a broadly useful drug. One should take a moment to question why people suddenly get terrified of a drug after decades of *statistically* safe use. Sure there are side effects. Avoid antibiotics wherever you can, but use them when you have a likely microbial infection that will likely get worse and potentially kill you. When SHTF, those rare effects, as severe as they can occasionally be with cipro and a bunch of other drugs, will be a rounding error. Avoiding cipro will be a luxury in that setting. In all my years of using cipro, which we even had to use in children sometimes where we knew there was cartilage risk early on, and because there was no other appropriate drug, I didn't encounter any of the feared side effects. But then the big one--the tendon rupture--is a side effect occuring only in about 1/1000. Rare but bad when it happens. Cipro barely shows a signal there, if at all-- although Levofloxacin does and cipro got lumped in based on being in the same class. Diarrhea is a common side effect and risk and a pain the butt for all antibiotics. Anyhow, avoid taking cipro, sure, but have some on hand. Same way you might avoid firing a .223 round, but want to have it on hand.

Been a homeopath most of my life. Works wonders. Never put poison into my body. For sure i take the dentists drugs before deep root canal or the doctors drugs before an operation but no jabs thank you and no big pharma if possible. Each to their own I guess but I’m always amazed by the “ and you know the side effects aren’t too bad “ argument. I d9nt have side effects following my gut.

U.S. residents can buy all the antibiotics mentioned, except for one, at ReliableRX Pharmacy. I've ordered from them and they are honest and reliable.

Forgot to mention. Just ignore the part about providing a prescription, if you don't have one and you can still order.

I agree it is fantastic, but is it only a topical ointment?
