Silly question coming…. ! Is there anything stopping the US switching from “Japan” to another country for the “carry trade” low rates? I get what’s happened in Japan but is the same thing not possible to exploit elsewhere..? Thank you lov
At some point, the worlds faith in the USD and political system etc will collapse completely.
The Russian foreign reserves confiscation caper put the cat amongst the pigeons in the global South, BRICS, SCO etc. Throw in killing civilians in international waters etc, and you should not be surprised when the world looks at the exceptional species, somewhat askance.
And rightly so.
What we are witnessing is late stage empire, hubris and with the current administrations beliefs about its exceptionalism, it is simply a matter of time before the West disappears up it's own jacksy.
A suggestion for a bumper sticker for the presidential limousine is a variation of one that was popular back in the 1970s.
It read. "Yes, actually I do own the road."
In my variation simply substitute the word road, with planet...
This is going to end very, very badly which is why I just purchased land in Latin America.
